Hey there blog.
It's been a bit. Actually, over 2 weeks. I'm sorry that the posts haven't really been too routine, I've just been running around the country trying to do my thing.
It's not that I've been overly busy, it's just that up until right now I haven't been so emotionally stirred about something to the point that I to get all up in my blog like this.
Politics, "shit that's important" has always demanded a huge part of my attention. I guess you could say it started with my discovery of gangster rap, and my acknowledgement of other people out there who openly expressed their distaste for the police.
Next thing I know, I find myself suspended from school wearing someone else's shirt from the Lost & Found bin. The principle of my junior highschool had forced me to change into this shirt because of the controversial image portrayed on the previous one I showed up wearing. It was the ever so popular "Not My President" shirt featuring a picture of Bush that I got from the whole Fuck Bush punk rock campaign fronted by old bands I loved when I was 12 - NOFX, Anti-Flag, etc. I altered the shirt with a sharpie, depicting Bush with a swaztika on his forehead. Seeing as I come from a "Jewish" background whatever that means, I found that, although anyone should be able to express their opinions on a t-shirt, especially in school - a place of education and discussion - I would be the appropriate one to wear this shirt. According to my "educators", this was racist and discriminatory, and the shirt was destroyed. I guess you're not allowed to compare the Bush occupation to the holocaust in Canada.. Or that was what I was supposed to think?
So I decided to leave school (which was illegal at that age) and teach myself only what I deemed important and necessary to my well being and development, and pursue only what I thought was important. I guess this is where my civil disobediance career began.. Haha.
Not saying that it's been easy, or that I'm perfect, but I'm proud to say I think on my own terms. I like to look at the realistic side of things.
I started smoking weed when I was about 13 regularly. Back then I was uneducated on the stuff I was smoking for fun with my friends all the time. After awhile it started to become one of my hobbies. I didn't know much about it, but I knew enough to know that it wasn't bad for you, it didn't harm anyone, and the fact that people are being arrested for anything related to marijuana was ridiculous and part of some huge well thought out scheme to help out with population control and mass-manipulation.
After awhile, it wasn't about smoking weed anymore, (I can and do that all day long regardless). It was about civil liberties and the fact that I feel as if my privacy is being infringed on by the Government. Weed was just where it began.
At a younger age, I also came to the conclusion that this cleverly thought out "human-conditioning-machine" called school, work and the law was somewhat successful, and most of the population I was aware of had completely fell victim to this big experiment. I realized that my parents were stupid. They bought into this big system, told me that everything I was doing was wrong, (I couldn't smoke weed, couldn't dye my hair in fear of people thinking I was gay, couldn't play music, had to become a doctor, had to play sports, had to wear certain brands, etc.) and I wasn't going to sit there anymore and listen to them hypocritically regurgitate lies that had been installed in their brains by their own clueless parents, educators, bosses, prime ministers, school counsellors, etc.)
Anyways the reason I'm so worked up about this shit lately is because I just recently visited Toronto for a week, and I feel like I have a better take on all of the things I was pissed off about in the first place. This weekend the G20 Summit, featuring 20 of the world's most prominent, rich leaders sitting down discussing "important matters" in Toronto kicked off, followed by peaceful protests, much like the ones I have taken part in. These protest's typically attract young, innovative and like-minded people who feel as if the public's interests are not being properly represented and something needs to change. The reason I decided to make an example of my educators and parents at an early age in this post is because I feel as if my skeptical attitude towards them is a relevant example of how what is becoming the general public or the majority feels about our "leaders". These people are sociopaths, psycopaths, all with their own idea of how the world should work, who were unfortunatly put in a position of power driven by an individuals natural greed and want for money mixed with the need to strive for acceptance within one's own community. Stephen Harper is a prime example of this. I don't feel as if Canada's interests should be represented by your average Albertan buisnessman (who clearly knows nothing about culture, individuality, human rights, or anything further than the bible for that matter), and here we are with an Alberta Conservative Fascist Extremist Piece Of Shit Bush Loving Cop Loving Young Person Hating Douchebag. Stephen Harper doesn't exactly celebrate diversity, so if you don't cut your hair straight, sign up for the Police Academy, Military, or work in a factory, you automatically become an enemy of this neo fascist god loving fuck fest.
Now I find myself back home in Winnipeg. Last week I was in Toronto, the place that's such a hot topic right now. I saw them setting up that stupid "security fence".
One night, we stayed in a 4 star hotel right in downtown Toronto. Because of the festival I was performing at in Toronto, I got a discount at this particular hotel so our stay was relatively cheap, but a regular room in this hotel for one night would run you over $400. The receptionist at this hotel informed us that over 300 rooms had been rented out to police who were brought in from out of town for the G20 Summit, and the hotel was at capacity. I walked through a lobby of about 400 police officers, relaxing, getting drunk, shouting, playing cards, it was quite a site. I didn't see police though, I just saw normal people with jobs, who were brought up a certain way that only allows them to see the Conservative side of things. These sheltered individuals reminded me of my parents and educators who also didn't know any better. And THAT is the problem here. Not the unjust laws, the corrupt power, it's a bigger picture then that. We are all brought up to think a certain way, and only some escape the cleverly thought out path that so many people choose to take in fear of discrimination or cristiscm from others. How can these innocent people know any better before they sign up to become a police officer? It's not that they weren't given a choice, we sure were fooled though!
Now here's what happens when the wrong person accidentally lands in a position of too much power, and can't stand when people step on their personal financial driven pride or oppose them. In this case.. Our beloved Stephen Harper and his army of brutal force cops trained to kick everyone who looks like they wouldn't like Stephen Harper's ass.
This particular video sums it up pretty well, make sure you notice all of the cops to the right on the screen, all the way in the back on horses as well, military style. They advance of this group of peaceful protesters, NOT VIOLENT PROTESTERS, "BLACK BLOC ANARCHISTS", ETC. and as the crowd begins to sign O'Canada, as if they feel their country is being taken away from them they advance on the crowd, weapons out, injuring hundreds of innocent people.
THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT VIOLENT PROTESTERS, MOSTLY YOUNG PEOPLE, STUDENTS, CITIZENS OF TORONTO JUST THERE TO VOICE THEIR OPINION. THEY ARE NOT THERE TO HURT ANYONE, YOU CAN HEAR THE FEAR IN THEIR VOICES AS THE COPS ADVANCE ON THEM.. MAKE SURE YOU WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON HERE. THE COPS BEAT THESE PEOPLE UP AFTER THEY SIGN THEIR NATIONAL ANTHEM:
Here is a compilation of videos that should make you sick and want to campaign against our conservative government. Please watch video number 5 where police shoot a woman with some sort of high power weapon for absolutely no reason at all.

Sneaky Sneaky..

New aquarium, bought it off some meth head. In the process of aquiring fish.

My old baby. Custom fix and paint on the stem by yours truly, but it broke the other night. Knocked it off the end table while I was sleeping, haha. We went and got a really nice new piece of glass as soon as we got up though, I'll post a picture soon.
